With elegance and commitment, the Sephardic Womenıs Group at Ohr Yisrael plans cultural programs and special events for the congregation and greater community.
Ohr Yisrael is proud to be an affiliate of Sephardic Tradition And Recreation (STAR), a thriving Jewish youth organization serving the Sephardic Jewish Community in Southern California.
STAR has created a place where Sephardic youth can socialize, explore, and learn about their rich cultural heritage.
STARıs events are divided among two age groups, the first is for ages 7-12 and the second is for ages 13-18. Each event includes a Dvar Torah on a variety of Jewish themes.
All events maintain Kosher dietary laws and traditional Sephardic customs.
The events range from elaborate Shabbatons to field trips, sporting events, and museums.
Each month one of our members selects a book to read. At the end of each month we have a meeting and invite the author to join us for a discussion.
Each month we feature a film reflecting Sephardic culture and interests. Our movie nights are held in a local screening room. Look for the next Orange County premiere!

Come and join us for our special "Family Shabbat",
on the first Saturday of each month.
Our family Shabbat features an expanded lunch, with special treats for the kids. All are welcome to attend.
